Our big yellow sign on the roof elicits different responses. Some people are extra nice to us, giving ample space, and giving us a thumbs up when we do excellent parallel parking downtown. Some people seem angered on sight. They decide without any evidence, that we are going to be slow and annoying and bad. They tailgate, pass aggressively, and let us know in every possible way that they think we are only here to get in their way and be annoying. No questions, we are slow, if you consider going the speed limit slow. We are not perfect, we are learning here. But we are NOT trying to annoy you. Please try to have a little patience. Everyone had to learn somehow. We try to choose roads that are not well travelled for our early, beginner hours, and then graduate to busier areas when we are ready. All we ask, is that you remember what it felt like to learn, and how nervous you were. We don’t need special treatment. We just need a little space and grace to become the best drivers we can be. You don’t want to be one of our many examples of what not to do.
